United Way Success By 6 is proud to administer the following programs in Sumter, Clarendon, and Lee
Counties in South Carolina:
Born to Read
Public Awareness Campaign – raising awareness of early childhood development and school
readiness issues through participation in health fairs, community events and media programs.
Advocacy - to increase advocacy for policies and resources that give very young children and their
families access to family-friendly services needed for school readiness.
Community Collaboration – continue collaboration with all stakeholders including schools, health care,
Head Start, Early Head Start, First Steps Boards, local agencies, non-profits, businesses, civic
organizations and faith communities to ensure that all children enter school ready to learn.
