Partner Agencies
Partners
United Way Partners are essential in our work in community mobilization and creating life-long changes in our communities. Agencies, funders, donors, and volunteers are all part of the change that is needed to make a difference in our communities in Education, Income, and Health.
Becoming a Partner Agency
United Way of Sumter, Clarendon and Lee Counties has established partnerships with health and human service agencies that address human needs in the community and meet certain organizational standards.

United Way partnership does not guarantee funding, but certified partner agencies are eligible to submit proposals for funding. There are other benefits in being a certified partner including:
-
Agency listing on community campaign materials.
-
Agency listing in our brochures and Annual Report.
-
Agency participation in impact strategies and volunteer opportunities.

To inquire about becoming a partner agency, please contact our office at 803-773-7935 or email Kari Cruse.

Also, if you have any questions about the process and our certification standards, please call us at 803-773-7935.

Allocations Funding
The application for the 2024 Allocations Funding process will start in August 2023.
Only United Way certified Partner Agencies are eligible to apply. If your organization is not a certified Partner Agency, your application will not be submitted for review.

Partner Agencies
United Way of Sumter, Clarendon and Lee Counties partners with local organizations that provide programs and services aligned with our three priority areas. Local agencies must complete a thorough application, agree to report results, provide an annual independent audit and maintain a volunteer board of directors in order to receive funding.
In addition, all United Way partner agencies must meet the requirements of the Internal Revenue Service and the South Carolina Secretary of State.
A team of community volunteers carefully reviews each application, and then makes informed decisions based on specific criteria, including the program's ability to address issues identified in Facing Facts, proven impact, and long-term expected outcomes.
